Since the 1960’s when Captain George Bransford had the first purposed built gameboat, “Seababy 1”, constructed for the offshore waters off Cairns, this tradition has continued.

Ningaloo
“Ningaloo” is a 14 metre, (47 foot) O'Brien sportsfisherman built to exacting standards to fish the waters of the Great Barrier Reef for Black Marlin.
Launched in January, 2006 and powered by twin QSM 11 Cummins diesels, with an array of the latest electronics, including sonar, she gives a distinct advantage to the angler and crew. Fully air-conditioned, with comfortable leather and teak interior, this vessel was designed with the anglers comfort in mind.
IGFA Certified Captain Laurie Wright has been fishing these waters for 30 years, and in that time has guided his clients to numerous, large Black Marlin, world records, light tackle and heavy tackle tournament wins and hot fishing. Whether you want to fish heavy tackle, light tackle or enjoy the thrill of fly fishing, we have an exclusive charter available for you. All tackle is Captain maintained and of the very best quality. The Jack Erskine rods and a selection of Accurate reels are designed to capture the big black marlin. Numerous “GRANDERS” have been caught by our anglers over the years including a 1,256# and a 1,277#.
Calypso
“Calypso” is a purpose built sports fishing vessel, built tough for the rugged Australian conditions. She is 43ft long and powered by 900BHP twin Detroit Diesel's. Fully air conditioned open bulkhead layout puts you right in the action all day every day.

Shaka
At 60 foot and powered by twin 1500 HP MTU engines, “Shaka” has a top speed of 42 knots, a cruising speed of 32 knots and a range of 865 nautical miles at 20 knots. She was purpose designed to fish the 150-mile length of the Great Barrier Reef grounds like no other, with the speed to get to the bite, the seaworthiness to fish comfortably in the frequent rough conditions outside the reef and the flexibility to avoid mothership constraints. And of course, to provide a standard of luxury accommodation commensurate with her sports fishing prowess. She makes extended liveaboard charters a pleasure in even the most exotic locations.
Captain Jared Weir has been fishing for over 20 years - the last 17 as captain — in some of the most prolific sport fishing destinations in the southwest Pacific. He began his professional career in Vanuatu where he was instrumental in establishing areas such as the Maskelyne Group that are now considered some of the country's legendary grounds. Jared has fished extensively in the Port Stephens and Gold Coast areas as well as his home base of Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef.
